The Sabre Women’s Golf team had a tremendous year. They are finishing the season with an even record 4-4, including a huge one-stroke victory over Providence High School and a 20 stroke win over Charlotte Catholic.
The team set and reset school records all year long ending with Ann Jones having the Lady Sabre low score record of 37 on nine holes, Maggie Magner's low 18 hole record of 79 and the team's low score record of 116 for nine holes. Maggie Magner backed up her stellar play all season with a 79 at the conference tournament earning her 1st Team All-Conference. Ann Jones (Sophomore) qualified for the regional golf tournament for a second time and Stephany Noh (Junior), Maggie Magner (Freshman), and Emma Williams (Freshman) each qualified for their first time.
Our two freshmen, Maggie and Emma, proceeded to shoot a 79 and 90 respectively in the regional tournament at Mooresville Golf Club earning them spots in the 2018 State Championship in Pinehurst, NC. Maggie shot an 85 both days of the match leaving her tied for 25th, and Emma shot 98 and 97 placing her 62nd out of 78 participants.
It has been an exciting year for the Sabre Women’s golf team!
