South Meck Media Center Offerings

We all know the Media Center has books. But what other things do they offer to the students and teachers of South Meck?
Programs
The Media Center has a lot to offer, including programs for students depending on what they need help with. Destiny is an online resource for students to see what books are in the library and which ones are checked out. You can put books on hold, write a review, make a collection, or a favorite reading lists. Destiny is also connected to the public library with One Access, which let's all students get free access of the public library. Students also have free access to tutors through Tutor.com to help them with courses they struggle with. They just have to use their student ID in place of a library card!
Online Checkout
If you are interested in checking out a book at the library, you are welcome to do so, but what if you keep forgetting to go to the library? Well, the brilliant people of our school's library (along with other schools) have a website called Destiny Discover, where you can go and check out books online. It pops up whenever you log into your computer and is waiting for you. Not only are there ebooks, but you may also checkout five books at a time on the website. There is no charge for overdue funds and you can put books on hold. If you do not have a computer at home, there is a Destiny Discover app!
What Happens During Lunch?
During lunch, students can go in the Media Center and do multiple things. Student can return and check out books, use the computers, or even just chill or do homework. The Media Center provides a nice and calm space for students to focus and relax.
What's New?
The Media Center has a new Digital Breakouts for teachers to use for their students. They also have digital magazines… But those are still in the making.
