Greetings! I hope this message finds you well! As a respected educator, I would like to share information about our year-long program for high school juniors, College LAUNCH for Leadership. College LAUNCH for Leadership...
is a FREE program offered by Wake Forest University at the Wake Forest Charlotte Center in Uptown Charlotte
targets racially, ethnically, and economically diverse populations; and those historically underrepresented in higher education (e.g. first-generation college students, undocumented immigrants, etc.)
requires students to attend Saturday Summits at the Wake Forest Charlotte Center, once-per-month from September 2018 – May 2019
Applications are available here.
Only rising-juniors may apply.
Applications are due by September 7, 2018.
Students will...
engage with community leaders in various industries – medicine, education, law, nonprofits, journalism, entrepreneurship, public advocacy, and much more!
design a research study or social action intended to raise awareness, impact, or solve a social issue of their choice. (e.g. education reform, community-police relations, immigration policy, LGBTQ rights, women’s rights, voting rights, mass incarceration, etc.)
discover connections between their career aspirations and passion for social change.
interact with Wake Forest University students, faculty, and staff to prepare for college applications, college or job interviews, completing the FAFSA, and applying for scholarships.
develop a sense of critical and social consciousness.
