Greetings! I hope this message finds you well! As a respected educator, I would like to share information about our year-long program for high school juniors, College LAUNCH for Leadership. College LAUNCH for Leadership...

  • is a FREE program offered by Wake Forest University at the Wake Forest Charlotte Center in Uptown Charlotte

  • targets racially, ethnically, and economically diverse populations; and those historically underrepresented in higher education (e.g. first-generation college students, undocumented immigrants, etc.)

  • requires students to attend Saturday Summits at the Wake Forest Charlotte Center, once-per-month from September 2018 – May 2019

Applications are available here.

Only rising-juniors may apply.

Applications are due by September 7, 2018.

Students will...

  • engage with community leaders in various industries – medicine, education, law, nonprofits, journalism, entrepreneurship, public advocacy, and much more!

  • design a research study or social action intended to raise awareness, impact, or solve a social issue of their choice. (e.g. education reform, community-police relations, immigration policy, LGBTQ rights, women’s rights, voting rights, mass incarceration, etc.)

  • discover connections between their career aspirations and passion for social change.

  • interact with Wake Forest University students, faculty, and staff to prepare for college applications, college or job interviews, completing the FAFSA, and applying for scholarships.

  • develop a sense of critical and social consciousness.
